Nyenweli Mgbundukwu Community Lauds Gov Wike
A Traditional Ruler in Rivers State, Eze Owabie Tobin, Paramount Ruler/Nyenweli Mgbundukwu Community in Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State has expressed gratitude to governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for what he described as his uncommon passion for the state and the welfare of his people.
Speaking with newsmen in his palace over the weekend, the monarch said with this type of attitude and patriotism the governor can talk people into going to war.
Eze Owabie recalled the numerous developmental projects and federal institutions which the governor has attracted and perhaps executed for the federal government in the state as well as the passionate protection of the welfare and interest of Rivers people.
According to him, “the current challenging of the FG at the Supreme Court over the alleged ceeding of some oils wells to the Imo State government is a case in point” he said.
The Traditional Ruler used the opportunity to congratulate the Rivers State governor so far for making the Ikwerre people proud by his superlative performance in governance and especially the 6years Report Card which he presented to the people recently, saying that it was all encompassing and detailed.
He equally congratulated Wike for the almost three (3) months of continuous commissioning and flagging-off of projects throughout the 23 local government areas of the state to the excitement of the residents and people of the state who cheered him all through.
Eze Owabie made it clear that it would be difficult for the governor’s successor to find his/her feat as according to him’ “Wike has demystified governance in Nigeria, and I hope he will be given a chance to replicate what he knows how to do best at the federal level”, he stated.
The monarch also used the opportunity to appeal to the governor to shift his attention to human capital development for the people especially empowerment, skill acquisition and job creation especially the settlement of pensioners and other complaints of the Civil Servants.
He reiterated the support of Rivers traditional rulers to the Wike administration and appeal to him to consider more classification of the institution for better results especially in combating criminality at the grassroot.
