Echoes From World Youths Day: Peace Child Nigeria Harps On Entrepreneurial Skills

As echoes of this year’s International Youths Day continue to reverberate around the world, a non-governmental organization has stated that entrepreneurship skills remain top on its advocacy for youths’ economic and social emancipation.

Speaking through a conference to mark the event in Port Harcourt, Founder of Peace Child Nigeria, Dr. A.N. Amoji, said the emphasis on entrepreneurial skills stemmed from the need to free the youths from the shackles of poverty, as they remained the present and future leaders.

Amoji at the global peace education conference for a sustainable world, spoke on the theme ‘Shaping the world for a dynamic and glorious future’.  She declared: “Peace Child Nigeria now includes skill entrepreneurship in her peace education. Part of our strategies is to raise future business executives and employers of labor and to create job opportunities that will eradicate poverty”.

She affirmed: “Our on-going skills for using local stable foods to produce instant moi-moi dry mix, instant Akara, Instant wheat breakfast cereals etc. are very much appreciated by working mothers, bachelor and others. Also, setting up peace clubs in schools and communities is the ultimate for the nations of the world”.

Amoji asserted that nurturing the youths in the path of discipline, moral virtues, academic excellence and dignity in labor cannot be over emphasized.

The founder of Peace Child Nigeria who disclosed that the NGO was founded in 1990 as a peace messenger initiative to transform the lives of children, youths and households, expressed joy that the celebration of the World Youth Day, 2021 has lifted the organization to greater height with full collaboration with her counterparts in Spain, London, USA, Canada and France.

Noting that the objective of the collaboration is to raise up a righteous generation through peace education and youth-led musical concerts, the PCN leader pointed out that the world is indeed a global village, with their mandate being to love one another.

She used the occasion to appreciate those she said carved the path to actualize her vision, mission as well as goal.

“I am eternally grateful to my late uncle Dr. Usim Odim who sponsored my all round trip to Dallas Texas USA for the 5-day peace conference “From Vision to Reality” at the Southern Methodist University Dallas USA in August 1988.  My second all round Sponsorship from Dr. Usim Odim to Peace Child International Peace Conference held at Hilversum- The Netherlands in 1990 and Hon. Uba E. Obasi who sponsored my unique Primary and Secondary School”.

Amoji revealed that the mission of PCN isto create a culture of love, adding “Our mission is to heal the cause of indiscipline, violence, moral vices and other social ills while our overall goal is to build a healthy nation and a sustainable world”.
