The people of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State may not have had it so good as they marked the flag-off of series of grassroots projects Wednesday, September 8, 2021 courtesy Hon. Ben Eke, the Council Chairman.
Addressing newsmen in Ahoada during the flag-off of the completion of Ihuowo town electrification project, construction of home economics and management training centre, construction of Universal Basic Education Office Ahoada, the reconstruction of a four classroom block at St. Paul State School Ahoada, and the reconstruction of Onoushi road respectively, Hon. Eke said his administration did not borrow money for the projects but only judiciously used the little they had.
Hon. Ben Eke said his administration is delivering on his campaign promises by being committed in the delivery of quality projects that will enhance the standard of living of the people.
His words: “All the projects are people oriented, money cannot be given to everybody but one sure way the resources can get to everyone is by embarking on people oriented projects. We are fulfilling our electioneering promises today”.
By the end of this tenure we will be able to site a project in all the wards of this local government. By God’s grace within 90 days these projects flagged-off today will be completed”.
The council boss urged the people of Ahoada East to be patient, prayerful and encourage and support his administration to do more.
He also pleaded with the youths not to disturb the contractors, saying as a government, they will ensure that they work in consonance with the provisions of the local content act.
Hon. Hope Ikiriko, the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area expressed satisfaction with the programmes and activities of Hon. Eke, describing his development efforts and initiatives as meaningful.
He said now that the youths of the area have the opportunity to learn skills that will prepare them to be self reliant, they should take advantage of such opportunity to build a better future.
