Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr George Ariolu, has called for improved partnership between government and corporate organizations.
He said the partnership would make room for creation of more jobs for youths as well as strengthen the security network in the area.
Barr Ariolu disclosed this on Wednesday, during a working visit to the managing director of Presidential Hotels and Resorts, Mr Salim Joseph Chidiac.
He said the visit was aimed at familiarizing with the hospitality Management Company and also to appraise them for the cordial relationship maintained with its host community Rumuadolu
According to him, there is pertinent need to do more for the people of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The Chairman who acknowledged the cordial relationship that exists between the hotel and its host community also added that it is its responsibility to affect the lives of citizens of Obio/Akpor and Rivers State at large.
He said the creation of more jobs in the area will help alleviate poverty amongst citizens of the LGA.
He however reiterated the council’s desire to partner with hotel presidential in the training of over 1000 youths in the area of human capacity development to enhance productivity in the area.
He urged the hospitality industry to strive towards engaging more Obio/Akpor Youths in the area of hospitality and management.
He said there is the need for the management to employ Obio/Akpor Sons and daughters so as to alleviate poverty and curb the rate of youth restiveness in the area.
Managing Director of the hotel, while speaking, reinstated its commitment to improve its relationship that exist between the organization and its host community.
Similarly, he assured of the organization’s desire to partner with the Council to empower citizens of Obio/Akpor in the area of job creation.
