OBALGA Chairman Flags Off Training Of Over 200 Youths

…Urges Trainees To Stay Glued To The Essence Of The Training And Become Good Ambassadors Of The LGA.

The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr George Ariolu has flagged off the first phase of Vocational training for youths and residents of Obio/Akpor.

He also challenged youths to stay focused on the essence of the training as he urged them to be proud of the training and equip themselves with relevant skills that will positively empower the society.

Barr Ariolu gave this charge on Tuesday, 21st September 2021, while addressing shortlisted trainees of the Obio/Akpor vocational training at the council Secretariat.

He said the training which is one of the major accomplishments of his administration in less than three months, will ensure that over 200 youths and residents of Obio/Akpor acquire relevant knowledge and skills in key vocational training in the engineering sector such as: SCAFFOLDING, FORKLIFT, CRANE AND EXCAVATOR OPERATIONS.

He added that the council expects participants to exhibit good conduct as a lot has been put in by the government to finance the training. 

He also advised participants of the various vocational skills to always remember that they are ambassadors of the LGA.

Speaking further, He however tasked the training providers, Bishop Marine Services to ensure that they render quality training to the youths as he intends to change the narratives amongst youths in the area.

Meanwhile, Barr Ariolu has disclosed that arrangements are already in place to kick off the second phase of the training, He also said the essence is to equip youths to become valuable assets as well as independent in the society.

Speaking, Director of Marine Services, Mr  Freeman Bishop assured youths of achieving the best results in the duration of the training.

He added that the vocational training initiated by the council is a lifetime opportunity for youths and residents in the area to focus on reprogramming their future for a purposeful lifestyle.

Also, Mr Onukem Chimaroke and Miss Josephine Obi who spoke on behalf of the trainees hailed the council Chairman for his efforts and commitment in building youths to become better persons in the society.
