100 Days In Office: Rt. Hon. Dekor Congratulates Khana, Gokana Council Chairmen

Rt. Hon. Dumamene Robinson Dekor, member representing Khana/Gokana in the Federal House of Representative says he is impressed with the performances of the council chairmen of Khana and Gokana Local Government Areas for these 100 days in office respectively.

The federal lawmaker said the two council chairmen, Dr. Bariere Thomas and Hon. Confidence Deko for Khana and Gokana respectively have demonstrated capacity to leave legacies in their respective council areas after the conclusion of their tenures which will serve as a booster and reference point to future leaders in Ogoniland generally.

He commended them for realizing that grassroots development is the basic tenet of participatory democracy which is the only way rural people can feel the taste of government and enjoy the dividends for their votes and trust.

Rt. Hon. Dekor congratulated the two council chairmen on their successful 100days in office and urged them to maintain the tempo.

According to him, the State governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike has already provided the template for developmental strides and it’s only left for political office holders to replicate the landmarks in their respective areas of leadership.

“We thank God for giving us this kind of visionary and pragmatic leader who has the interest of our people in mind and is ready to go to any length to fight and protect it for the collective good of all Rivers people irrespective ethnicity, religion or party affiliation.

The only way we can appreciate, His Excellency is to ensure that those entrusted with the common wealth of the people at all levels, whether as local government council chairmen  or heads of ministries, departments, agencies or parastatals do well to make the people the centre of their programmes and ensure that peace prevails in their areas and justice given to all without discrimination”, Rt. Hon. Dekor declared.
