Commotion In Etche Legislative Assembly As House Leader Is Allegedly Stripped Half Naked
…Mace Carted Away
There was pandemonium in Etche Local Government area last Monday as the leader of the Etche Legislative Assembly was stripped half nude and the windscreen of her vehicle broken allegedly by the Chief Security Officer of the Council on the alleged orders of the Chairman,Hon. Obinna Anyanwu.
In an interview with National Network, the Leader of the House,Mrs. Cynthia Nwala disclosed that she was on her way out of the Council when she noticed that the gate has been locked.
She explained that the Chief Security Officer approached her and told her to drop the mace on the alleged instruction of the Council Chairman.
Mrs. Nwala further explained that she decided to go with the mace because the chamber was under construction and the mace may not be safe in the Council.
She alleged that without provocation the Chief Security Officer who is determined to take the mace from her allegedly pounced on her, tore her clothes and broke the windscreen of her vehicle and carted away with the mace.
In his reaction, the Council Chairman, Obinna Anyanwu denied ordering the Chief Security Officer of the Council to assault the House Leader.
The Chairman stated that after the screening of Supervisory Councillors last Monday, the House Leader wanted to go with the mace and some of the Councilors refused and there was friction between Mrs. Nwala and the Councilors.
The Etche Council boss added that the Chief Security Officer only went there to separate the fight in his capacity as the CSO of the council.
Efforts to reach the Council’s CSO failed as repeated attempts to connect his phone line failed.
