Journalism Educators Foundation Holds 2021 Conference Nov 2 To 5

The Journalism Educators Foundation will hold its biennial conference with theme “Communication, Language and Coping with Covid-19 in the 21st Century” fixed for November 2 to 5 in collaboration with Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies, University of Port-Harcourt.

A release said the conference would take place at Ebitimi Banigo Auditorium in University of Port-Harcourt and would commemorate the retirement of Prof. Shirley Yul-Ifode and other lecturers in the department from the university system.

The press release said the Speaker of the conference would be Prof. Peter Esuh, who is the Head of Department of Communication Arts, University of Uyo, adding that Prof. Alice Nte of College of Health in University of Port-Harcourt and Prof. Walter Ihejirika, Interim Dean of Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Port-Harcourt as well as Prof. Umaru Pate, Vice-Chancellor of Keshere University, Gombe State, would be Lead Paper Presenters.

The Chief Host, according to the release, would be Prof. Owunari Georgewill, Vice-Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt while the Host would be Prof. John Yeseibo who is the Acting Dean of Faculty of Humanities in University of Port-Harcourt.

The Convener would be Prof. Aniefiok Udoudo who is the Head of Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies in University of Port-Harcourt.

The release further said that the Father of the Day would be the Vice-Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele.
