The State Government has expressed delight with the efforts of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Rivers State Government Hospitals Branch to promote effective healthcare delivery.
The State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo, expressed this while playing host to a delegation of MDCAN, Rivers State Government Hospitals Branch at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, 3rd November, 2021.
Dr. Banigo who said she was delighted with the fact that MDCAN have been consistent with its work further said “we are happy that the efforts of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in the health sector is appreciated by MDCAN, we hope you will continue to cooperate with us as a Government moving forward, even as you leave after your tenure”.
She congratulated the outgoing leadership for a successful tenure and expressed the hope that the incoming Executives would be as cooperative as the outgoing one.
The Deputy Governor urged them to encourage the young ones to go in and specialize on the various specialty of medicine to ensure that the State would not lack experts in any area.
Earlier the Chairman, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) Rivers State Government Hospitals, Dr. Simeon Uriah had informed the Deputy Governor that they were at the Government House to inform her that MDCAN was about to organize its Biennial General Meeting, which would end up with the election of a new executive.
He said as a Senior member of the MDCAN, the Deputy Governor has continued to give them the necessary support to succeed.
