Banigo Speaks On Spiritual Life Of Christians
Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo says Christians should not only strive to build the Physical Church but the Spiritual Church as well.
Dr. Banigo stated this during the 2021 Adult Harvest Thanksgiving Service of St Alban’s Anglican Church, Obuama on Sunday, 14th November 2021.
Dr. Banigo said there was no point in building the physical without building the Spiritual because Jesus was coming to rapture a Church without blemish.
“He is coming to rapture us, are we rapture able, that is the first thing, St. Paul said first of all present your selves and then present whatever you have come with”. Dr. Banigo stressed.
The Deputy Governor, who expressed delight with the harvest thanksgiving service, said, “we are harvesting the blessings of God, we are harvesting good things and we are building our Church, not just the physical Church, we are building the spiritual Church”.
The Deputy Governor, who said the Church Project was very important, added that this was a very good time to give to the House of the Lord and to see His Kingdom expanded.
She expressed gratitude to the Church and the Vicar for the Award of Excellence bestowed on her, which she said would spur her to work more for God and humanity.
“I am extremely surprised and delighted at this beautiful plaque given to me by the Church, which is my Church, my father’s Church and my grandfather’s Church, the Church which the fathers of faith had built”.
In his Sermon drawn from Haggi 1: 8 the Vicar, Ven. Amavey Christian Abbey-Kalio said we are expected to return thanks to the Almighty God with all that is within us because, in spite of our mistakes, He has kept us, and made us who we are today.
The venerable who said this year’s harvest was tied to the building of God’s House, noted that we must make the House of God a befitting place.
He said God was speaking to us to consider, the way we think and act when it comes to the things of God because, He is watching.
