Elikor Lauds Wike Over Rebisi King’s Recognition
The Nye Risi Mbam Oro Anwanwor, Chief Appearance Godwin Elikor, has hailed the enthronment of HM, King Isaiah Elikwu as the Eze Rebisis and Paramount Ruler of Port Harcourt City Local Government.
Elikor who spoke in a chat with newsmen in Rumueme, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area Monday, said that the judgment was in order.
According to the Rumueme Chief, if the Courts continue in such flawless manner, those with dubious attitudes would reconsider their steps.
“The Court, of a truth, should be the last hope of the common people. if they continue serving better justice, those with selfish intentions will abandon their plans earlier. So, that is why we want them to do more” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike over his prompt action in recognizing and issuance of Staff of office to new Rebisi King.
Describing Governor Wike as a man of Justice, he pointed out that others would have played politics with it and noted that the governor was dignified.
He also appealed to the Governor on the need to revisit the Rumueme chieftaincy matter and help them out.
Narrating the ugly experience of the matter, he said that they have gone up to the apex court, but expressed hope that the Governor Wike would deliver them from the nightmare.
The one time Nigerian soldier, recalled how similar tussles had caused havocs in several communities and thanked the Rebisi people for their show of maturity during the pendency of the matter.
On part of the Traditional Rulers Council, he appealed with them to always carry out some investigation before accepting anyone into their fold in order to reduce the level of litigations on chieftaincy matters.
