Elikpowuodu CDC Chairman Distributes Cows, Food Items To His People
Elikpokwuodu indigenes, particularly women and widows were overjoyed on Thursday December 23, 2021 as the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Hon. Prince Sunny Opara showered them with gifts of rice, cows and condiments for celebration of the Christmas.
The over 30 bags of rice, 3 cows and condiments were distributed to the three villages that make up Elikpokwuodu Community.
Speaking to newsmen at the distribution site, the CDC chairman, Hon. Prince Sunny Opara said he was motivated by the love he has for his people to share the items for them to enable them have food on their tables for the Christmas celebration.
Hon Opara said he was also celebrating the peace in his community and thanked God for keeping them alive to witness the Christmas and the approaching New Year.
Also speaking, both the Acting Head of Elikpokwuodu Community, Chief Achinike Ninecha and the Head of Owhu family, Chief Owhonda Mgbakiri thanked the CDC chairman, Hon. Sunny Opara and appreciated God for the peace that reigned in Elikpokwuodu in 2021 and prayed for peace to continue to reign in the community.
The women and widows of Elikpokwuodu were filled with gratitude to the CDC Chairman and their appreciation were conveyed by their leader, Elizabeth Worlu who thanked Hon. Opara profusely for his good gesture to them, particularly the widows and prayed God to continue to guard and guide him and his family.
She told journalists that the CDC chairman gives them rice every year, saying it was not like that in the past when he had not been elected.
Our correspondent reports that Chiefs, elders and youths witnessed the distribution of the largess. One of prominent chiefs is Chief Christopher Weli – Head of Rumuwegedele family.
