Oba Of Ogbaland’s Entourage To Govt House Shows Acceptability To All – Media Officer

The calibre of personalities from Ogba Ethnic Nationality of Rivers State who accompanied the incumbent Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Oba Barr. Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III, MNIPR, to visit Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday, 18th March, 2022, was an indication that the choice of the new Ogba monarch by Umu Ebe Royal Family is generally accepted by the entire Ogba people and indeed Nigerians.

The Mmboh Krikri of Ogba Ethnic Nationality and Media Officer of Oba’s Palace, Omoku, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP who made this observation noted that what happened that day by the presence of who is who in Ogbaland was first in history in Ogbaland and gave glory to Almighty God for using the new Eze Ogba to unite Ogba people.

He said large crowd irrespective of political leanings, groups, religion or gender from various communities which made up Ogba Nation also showed that permanent unity had come to stay in Ogba Ethnic Nationality.         

He said the red carpet reception accorded the new Eze Ogba and his delegation at Government House by Governor Wike also showed an indication that had  Governor loves Ogba people and their king.

Governor Wike had while playing host to the delegation approved the recognition of the new Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Oba Barr. Obuoha Nnam-Obi III as a First Class Traditional Ruler in Rivers State  and directed the Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice as well as the State Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs to immediately prepare and issue certificate of recognition and staff of office to the new King.

 The highly elated Oba who was officially coronated on Saturday 2nd October 2021 during the visit expressed gratitude to Governor Wike for the pronouncement and promised to improve on the legacies his late father left behind.

Among prominent Ogba sons and daughters who accompanied the Ogba monarch to the Government House were immediate former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Rivers State, Bro. Felix Obuah JP (Aka Go Round), Chairman, ONELGA Council, Hon. Vincent Job, JP, three former Chairmen of ONELGA, Chief Ibe Eresia-Eke, Dr. Martins Ahiakwo and Barr. Osi Olisa, the Rivers State Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Prince Obi Ohia, two Rivers State Assembly members representing ONELGA, Hon. Christian Ahiakwo and Hon (Chief) Nath Elendu Uwaji.

Others were the Provost, FCE(T) Omoku, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri, KSC, former Secretary PDP, Chief Oris Onyiri, Director, Omoku Town Club (OTC), Barr. C.U. Amadike, Leader, Obaka Mandate, Chief M.A. Osaji, the President, Egi Youths Federation, Comrade Ugochukwu Orikoha, the President, Omoku Peoples Forum, Sir Barr. Emeka Ichoku; the Eze Ohali of Ogbaland, HRH, Eze Chima Gilbert Nwajari; retired High Court Judge, Justice Ben Eke Ugbari and the Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters to ONELGA Chairman, Chief B.I. Ordu, JP.

Others were a former Commissioner in NDDC, Sir Dr. S.A. Akolokwu, the Osichi of Ogbaland, Sir Dr. Innocent Masi, MNI, a chieftain of all Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Okechukwu Amadike, a former Deputy Provost of FCE(T) Omoku, Prof. Pac Ordu, a former Registrar of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State, Dr. A.C. Nwokocha and a former Registrar of FCE(T) Omoku, Pastor Dr. Liverpool Onyije as well as a retired Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anthony Chukwudi Nwaeyilobu.

Also on the delegation were a University Don, Prof. (Mrs.) Blessing Augustine Ahiauzu, the Chairman, Ogba Divisional Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, HRH Eze Innocent Ugada, the Eze Umu Oboh of Egi Land; HRH H.O. Nnadi; the Traditional Prime Minister of Iyasara 13th of Ogbaland, HRH Eze Lious Ajie, JP; the Director of Royal Fortress Hotels Limited, Engr. George Okoroma, Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, Women and Youth Organizations, Clergies, Social and Cultural Clubs among others.

Also on the entourage were members of Ogba Divisional Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, Obakata Mandate, Obieti Focus, Omoku Youth Federation, Egi Youth Federation, Ogba Students Union, Ogba Juju Priest Association, Ogbachi Society, Go Round Community and Omoku Communities Women Association.
