Philanthropist Provides Toilet, Borehole Facilities To Omekweame, Ifoko Communities

The founder of Okorinama Foundation has done it again as he built and commissioned a  6 room concrete toilet for Omekweame community and portable drinking water for Ifoko community respectively, all  in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State.

Performing the commissioning ceremony at Omekweama Community, King Asemebo L. Apadikiari-Horsfall, Amayanabo of Omekweama said Hon. Amb. Okorinama West has demonstrated that his love for the people of Kalabari is second to none through his humanitarian services.

He said the execution of different projects in various communities in Kalabari Kingdom has alleviated many years of suffering in the area, while describing Hon. West as a youngman who is always ready to satisfy and meet the needs of others.

The  king said the toilet built is of great importance to the people of Omekweama and its environs because Omekweama is a gateway community where people from all walks of life pass through.

Seeing the rate of projects executed in most parts of Kalabari kingdom, the Amayanabo chose to honour Hon. West with an award of Excellent performer for his philanthropic gestures and services to humanity. 

Relatively, the secretary to the council of Ifoko Cheifs, Alabo Gaillis Kalasuku who represented the king of Ifoko,  HRH, King Hon. Stephen Emmanuel said the people of Ifoko will ever be grateful to the Hon. West for giving them good drinking water and a brand new generator to facilitate the pumping of water.

He said the project is of importance to them because water is life and that the community has been facing a lot of challenges as regards water, especially during dry season, but with the magnanimity of Hon. West, the challenge has come to pass.

Alabo Kalasuku said the community has gotten several fruitless promises from politicians in exchange of their votes but with what Hon. West has done for them without occupying any political office shows that he will do more things for them if voted into office and promised to support his political ambition.

He urged other prominent sons and daughters of kalabari kingdom to key into what Hon. West is doing so as to help more people and communities that are in need.

The community women leader, Madam Letricia Odibo, said the project came as a surprise to them, saying Hon West is one among millions and prayed God to replenish his pocket.

Expressing their joy, the people of Ifoko community in their numbers offered prayers for protection, the grace  and also for God to grant his heart desires.

Hon. Okorinama West in his response said the manner in which the people of Ifoko welcomed him showed that they actually appreciated the little he has done for them and promised to build a concrete toilet for the women of Ifoko.

The philanthropist added that he was not doing all these for political reasons but only rendering humanitarian services based on the inspiration from God but vying for political position will enable him to make laws that will benefit the people of the state and also to render more humanitarian services.

He also promised to extend his philanthropic services to other parts of the state and the country at large with the help of God.
