CACN Bori Diocese Opens Annual Pentecost Week

The 2022 Annual Pentecost Week of the Christ Army Church Nigeria (CACN), Province 2, Bori Diocese, Khana Local Government Area commenced on Monday, May 30, 2022, with members of the Church in attendance at different Pentecost Centers across the Diocese.

The one-week prayer and fasting event which has as its theme, “My Presence Shall Go With Thee” (Exodus 33:14), holds every day in all the 12 Pentecost Centers, with the first session beginning from 6am to 2pm, while the second session follows immediately from 6pm and end by 2am.

A statement by the Diocesan Bishop of Bori Diocese, Rt. Rev. MacJob Mkparo, said the Annual Pentecost would end on Sunday, June 5, 2022 with a commemoration of “Whit Sunday” (Pentecost Sunday), the very day that the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ promised to send the comforter, Holy Spirit, to Christians.

The statement said members of the Diocese will attend designated Pentecost Centers in their respective Districts and Parishes spread across Bori Diocese.

It added that Bishop Mkparo would visit some Pentecost Centers to speak to the congregation on the theme of the programme, “My Presence Shall Go With Thee” and also administer the Holy Communion on all confirmed members present in church.

Recall that the 2022 Annual Pentecost Week kicked off across the 12 Pentecost Centers of the Bori Diocese of Christ Army Church of Nigeria (CACN) with variety of events.  

At the St. Luke’s CACN, Kono Town, the church engaged their Winners Chapel counterpart also from Kono Town to a thrilling friendly football match.

Aside from the St. Mathias’s Cathedral in Bori which is the headquarters of the CACN, Bori Diocese, other Pentecost in the Bori Diocese include: St. Matthew’s CACN, Eeken; St. John’s Uegure, Kono Bo-ue; St. Michael’s, Teenama; St. Paul’s Pue; St. Michael’s, Zako-Luawii and St. Luke’s Kono Town.

Others are St. Mark’s CACN, Kapnor; St. Barth’s, Sii Parish; St. Barth’s, Sinai, Ngo; St. Peter’s, Otuafu/Otunria and St. Luke’s Agwutobolo.
