Fathers’ Day Celebration: Obuah Pays Surprise Visit To Oldest Man In ONELGA Village
Renowned philanthropist and Ikemba Idemili, Bro. Felix Amechi Obuah, on Monday, visited Elder Elekwachi, a nonagenarian native of Amah Village in Ogba/Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) to celebrate Fathers Day.
Obuah, famous for his philanthropic acts, told the stunned elderly citizen who clocked 90 last February, that he got the impulse to visit and rejoice with him on the gift of life from God. He added that there is no better time to celebrate the fathers and elderly than this time which the world has set out to commemorate.
“I am here to celebrate with you on this special day. You are also my father, because it gladdens my heart whenever I find myself in the midst of fathers and the elderly”, said Obuah who is popularly called ‘Go Round’.
He told Elekwachi to regard the gift he gave to him as a token of love, meant to encourage him to see reason to live longer.
An appreciative Elekwachi could not hold back tears of joy as he accepted the gift with shaky hands. He said the visit and gift has added more strength and vitality to his years.
His words, “I was weak but your visit today has given me strength and I will start my morning walkout tomorrow because I am stronger now. May God continue to bless you richly”.
Bro. Felix Obuah was accompanied in the visit by Eze Umu-Ogeri of Ogbaland, Chief Martins Olowu and former Rivers Commissioner for Youths Development, Prince Ohia who thanked the Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for his gesture to identify with the elderly, promising that they would emulate his lifestyle.
