Ovumgba Urges Keke Operators, Others To Obtain PVC

Rivers State Chairman of the All Keke Drivers Freedom Association of Nigeria, Comrade Friday Ovumgba has said that the ongoing very registration exercise provides opportunity for Nigerians to elect leaders who would rewrite the ugly narratives about the country.

He told National Network in an interview in Port Harcourt on Monday, that commercial tricycle operators, popularly called ‘Keke’ in the state, had the numbers to turn the tide in any election in the state, should they go out and vote.

The Chairman said he had extensively mobilized his members on the need to exercise their franchise as responsible citizens, adding that the effort paid off with many of them participating in the exercise.

Workers Union of Nigeria (Tricycle Section) said the Independent National Electoral Commission had been unanimous enough to extend the registration exercise to enable everyone to do the needful and urged Keke transporters to take advantage of the extension.

Ovumgba who is also the President of Egbeda Central Youths as well as the EMOLGA Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), said as a good Nigerian, he has effectively utilized all platforms he found himself, to crusade on the need to obtain the PVC, to make the country a better place.

“I strongly believe that the 2023 general election is eagerly being awaited by all Nigerians, and even the world at large.  Nigerians would use their votes to reshape the country if need be.  That is why I am appealing to all and sundry to make the best use of this opportunity by ensuring that they get their PVCs.  It is the very first step in the democratic process of electing our leaders”, he said.

Comrade Ovumgba used the occasion to commend Governor Nyesom Wike on the giant strides being executed by his administration, while calling on the people of the State go continue to support the governor as he wraps up his tenure in the state.`
