The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has asked the Chairman of the Body of Benchers, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN to vacate his office with immediate effect to enable the body determine a case of professional misconduct against a partner in the law firm of Wole Olanipekun and co.
In a strong worded letter to Chief Olanipekun SAN, the NBA President Olumide Akpata requested the Chairman BOB to recuse himself from the office of the Chairman of the BOB to enable the body oversee the working of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee, LPDC, in dispensing with a petition of professional misconduct against a partner in his law firm, Mrs Adekunbi Ogunde.
Mrs Ogunde,acting on behalf of the Law Firm, in a brazen letter to an expatriate oil company, claimed that Chief Olanipekun SAN will use his position as Chairman of Body of Benchers to influence Judges of all courts in Nigeria to give Judgement for the benefit of the expertrite oil company.
