Elele Convent Reacts As Kidnappers Hold Rev Sisters

The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour Generalate, Elele, Rivers State has announced that four of their Sisters were kidnapped in Imo state on Sunday.

In a statement signed by the Secretary General of the Convent, Sister Zita Ihedoro, the Sisters named the victims as Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu.

The statement read: “It is with great pain that we bring to your notice the kidnaping of our Sisters: Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu”.

Ihedoro said the abduction took place near the Okigwe-Umulolo axis of the Okigwe-Enugu Expressway while the religious sisters were on their way to a Thanksgiving Mass for one of their own.

“We implore for an intense prayer for their quick and safe release.

May Jesus the Saviour listen to our prayers and may Our Mother Mary intercede for the unconditional release of our dear Sisters,” Sister Zita wrote.

The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour Generalate, Elele, Rivers State was founded in 1985 by Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Matthew Paul Edeh.
