Khana Council Chairman, Dr. Bariere Bags NURSS Award

More laurels continue to come the way of the Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere following his impressive administration of the council.

The latest of these acknowledgments came from the National Union of Rivers Students (NURSS) Kenule Beeson Wiwa Polytechnic chapter who bestowed a prestigious award of honor upon the Khana Council boss in recognition of his continuous support and efforts in fostering sustainable peace in Bori, the local government headquarters and Khana at large.

During the award presentation ceremony held at his official residence in Bori, NURSS President of Kenpoly chapter, Comr. Lebari Romanus Barimene , commended Dr. Thomas Bariere for creating a peaceful and conducive atmosphere that students now enjoy in Bori.

Recalling the past challenges faced by students in Bori when the area was marred by insecurity and violence, the NURSS President expressed his gratitude for the transformation brought about by Dr. Bariere Thomas.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to you, Mr. Chairman, for your benevolence, magnanimity, and unwavering support towards the student community,” NURSS President stated.

He added that the award was presented to the Khana Council Chairman as a token of appreciation for his kind gestures, continued support, empowerment initiatives, and his commitment to creating an enabling learning environment for students.

Acknowledging the honor with humility, Khana Council boss expressed his gratitude to the students’ community, particularly the NURSS Ken-poly chapter, for considering him worthy of such recognition.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Bariere dedicated the award to God and also paid tribute to the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for his ministerial nomination and successful appearance before the Senate.

He pledged his unwavering commitment to work with various stakeholders to ensure lasting peace and development in the council.
