State Honours Award: Rt. Hon. Dekor Congratulates Sir Fubara, Mitee, Mpigi, Nwogu, Kamalu, Others
Member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has described as well deserved the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS) conferred on the governorship flag bearer of the State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general election, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, former President, Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, Barr. Ledum Mitee, Senator representing Rivers South/East Senatorial District, Sen. Barry Mpigi, Senator Olaka Nwogu and the State Commissioner for Finance, Barr. Isaac Kamalu by the Rivers State government.
The federal lawmaker who doubles as Chairman, House Committee of Host Communities of the House of Representatives said the Honour conferred on these illustrious sons from his Senatorial District further confirms that hard work and commitment to the collective good of the people have their reward and at the appropriate time will be duly rewarded.
The Ogoni-born lawmaker, a former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly and one time Commissioner for Works in the State also lauded the foresight of Governor Nyesom Wike for recognizing the efforts and contributions of Sir Fubara, Barr Mitee, Senator Mpigi, Senator Nwogu and Barr. Kamalu and honouring them accordingly.
“Let me also put it on record that the State Honours to notable personalities and great achievers in the State as well as friends of the State by the Wike administration is a wonderful legacy and performance in governance and other public assignments. I doff my cap for the creativity and vision of His Excellency to accord recognition to those that deserve to be honoured and once more, congratulate all the recipients of the award especially Sir Fubara, Barr Mitee, Sen. Mpigi, Sen. Nwogu and Barr. Kamalu and wish them well in their various endeavours,” Rt. Hon. Dekor prayed.
