…Donates Estate Of 5 Flats To Deceased’s Wife

…Scholarship To University Level For Unborn Baby

Respite came the way of the family of late Chima Ikwunado over the weekend with the intervention of the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Gift Chinyere Chibuzor, to unravel the mystery surrounding the untimely death of late Chima Ikwunado, allegedly tortured to death by some police officers attached to the Eagle Crack Unit of the Rivers State Police Command.

Prior to OPM G.O.’s intervention, there had been conflicting stories and undue delay by the police to clear the air on the circumstances  and cause of the death of late Chima, a member of Iwofe branch of the OPM Church.

The police in one breath, said late Chima, a mechanic based in Ikoku motor spare parts’ village, and a native of Agbaje, Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State died of excess sugar content in detention but were reluctant in providing the autopsy to back up their claim.

Varying reports on social and mainstream media on the unprofessional conduct of the police and the alleged inhuman treatment meted out on late Chima that allegedly led to his death generated public outcry.

Heightened by the gory pictures and testimonies of the deceased’s other colleagues arrested and detained along with him after they were later released, also accelerated the call for necessary and urgent investigation into the abominable act.

Worse still, the pregnant widow of late Chima and his parents were denied access to the mortal remains of their husband, and son, a development seen by many including notable human rights organizations as  gross injustice that must not be swept under the carpet as one of ‘those’ cases.

Emotionally touched and moved by the agony and stress the deceased’s widow and parents were going through occasioned by the hanky- panky  manner the case was being handled by relevant authorities, Apostle Chibuzor decided to take the bull by the horn and approached the office of the Rivers State Police Commissioner, Dandaura Mustapha, to seek justice on behalf of the deceased’s family.

While following up the matter which the police  agreed to provide the remains of late Chima for ‘another’ autopsy by the family, the OPM G.O. has also magnanimously donated an estate of 5 flats (one bedroom apartment and four self-contained flats) to the widow of late Chima at Mbodo area of Aluu, Port-Harcourt besides undisclosed sums of money to her and the deceased’s aged parents for their upkeep.

In addition, the unborn baby when eventually delivered hoped to be at OPM’s free Specialist Hospital will also be on OPM’s scholarship from nursery school through primary, secondary to university level, Apostle Chibuzor further stated.

The unborn baby’s schooling will also be abroad, the man of God added.

While handing over the keys to the estate to late Chima’s widow, Thursday, the OPM G.O. said, “From henceforth this is your house, you and your child so that you will not suffer. This is what your husband struggled and hoped for, but could not provide you because of his untimely death. I now stand in for him to provide you that comfort from the tithes and offerings of the OPM Church as I was moved by God.

The house is for you forever. You will live in the one bedroom flat and rent out the remaining flats so that you can be feeding from the accruements. After you have delivered, I will still give you more money to start business and also provide more money to your husband’s parents. That is what Chima would have done for them if he were alive. The natural thing is for children to bury their parents at death but in this case, they are the ones burying their child which is sad. I shall help them and not allow them to suffer because of late Chima, who is our member even though I did not know him one on one. He worshipped at Iwofe branch as I was told, while I ministered at the headquarters. We don’t abandon our members”, Apostle Chinyere Chibuzor declared.

In their respective responses, the wife of late Chima amid tears thanked the OPM General Overseer for his unprecedented intervention and generosity that has automatically changed her condition.

She prayed God to grant the man of God good health, long life and prosperity to continue to touch lives.

The aged parents of the deceased, Mr. and Mrs Stephen Ikwunado were also full of praises for the man of God and prayed that only the Almighty God will reward the OPM strongman, Apostle Gift Chinyere Chibuzor for his large heart.
