2023: Prof. Weli Drums Support For Sim Fubara
A well-known staunch member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Prof. Simeon Emenike Weli has called on all eligible voters in the state to come forward to participate and vote massively for the PDP guber candidate, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and other candidates of PDP ahead of the Saturday, March 18, 2023, governorship and State Assembly elections.
Making the call while speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Sunday, Weli noted that it was important that the good people of Rivers State vote wisely and en masse for Sim Fubara to win, so as to continue the developmental strides of Governor Nyesom Wike in the State.
“Honestly, I make bold to say that Governor Wike has excellently performed well in service to the state and therefore, needs a seasoned democrat with good vision like Fubara as a successor to follow his good footsteps in consolidating his landmark achievements that speak volume across the 23 local government Areas in the State.
“Interestingly, Sim Fubara is a very vibrant young man. I have the strong confidence that he will not deviate from the already laid good foundation Gov. Wike has put in place, if voted into office come March 18,” he stressed.
Prof. Weli, a board member of Rivers State Pension Board, also urged the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to allow themselves to be intimidated but to stand firm and continue the good work they are doing towards ensuring that this year’s election exercise records huge success.
“I still maintain that INEC officials did well in the last February 25, Presidential election, even though there were some complaints from some polling booths concerning the malfunctioning of the newly introduced Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machine. ‘
“But I can assure you that this time around, the INEC officials must have reconfigured the machine with a view to ensuring that the BVAS does not pose any problem in the forthcoming Governorship and House of Assembly elections billed for this weekend,” he emphatically stated
The Ikwerre-born politician nevertheless, prayed that youths in Rivers State will see reason to continue to rally support for the Governorship hopeful, Sim Fubara, who is apparently a youth and also ready to represent the interest of Rivers youths well when voted to Brick House.
