Wike’s Report Card Impressive – KELGA PDP Chieftain

The sixth year Report Card of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State as presented Monday July, 12, 2021 has been described as impressive and encompassing.

This was the impression of Chief (Dr) Goodluck Nwobike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while fielding questions with Journalists at the Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port-Harcourt, venue of the event.

He said the achievements of the governor covered all sectors of the economy including education, housing, agriculture, roads and infrastructural development especially the all important flyover bridges.

He made it clear that the governor has proved his critics and political detractors wrong with his superlative performance in office and indeed proved beyond doubt that the mandate given to him by the Rivers people was not misplaced.

He also admitted that the governor’s leadership style and will power were instrumental to these much achievements.

According to Chief Nwobike “with the standard set by governor Wike in governance, he has not only demystified governance but would keep his successor on his toes in order to meet up the peoples expectation”.

The former KELGA council chairmanship aspirant however appealed to the administration to shift its attention to empowerment of the citizens, job creation and the welfare of pensioners in the state.

“I feel these are the only grey areas of the administration that needs attention, otherwise, he is doing marvelously well”.

Dr. Nwobike equally used the opportunity to congratulate the governor for his almost three months commissioning and flagging-off of projects across the nooks and crannies of the state, adding that these were unprecedented and worthy of emulation.

He made it clear that if politicians like Governor Wike find their way at the federal level, there is no way the situation would not change for the better for the Nigerian nation.

On the Electoral Amendment Bill awaiting consideration, he stated that if politicians especially the All Progressives Congress (APC) opposition political party are sincere in their action, there is no reason why any right thinking stakeholder would not support the amendment that would reduce any form of rigging in the electoral system and by implication the violence associated with elections in the country.
