Ele Monarch Commends Ogu/Bolo Council Boss Over Provision Of Portable Water

The Amanyanabo of ancient Ele Kingdom in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, HRH King Felix Tamunoseipiriala Okuru, has commended the Chairman of the Council, Bar. Vincent Nemieboka for the provision of a portable drinking water for the people of the area.

King Feiix Tamunoseipirala Okuru, Apina Vll, who made the commendation during the inauguration of the project at Ele Kingdom on Saturday, July 22, 2023, said portable drinking water had been one of the major challenges of the people which has been solved. He described the Chairman as a true son of the soil who is desirous to meet the needs of the people.

He thanked him on behalf of the good people of Ancient Ele kingdom and prayed God to protect and give him the courage to further pilot the affairs of the Local Government to an enviable height.

The ancient Ele Monarch also lauded the Port Manager, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA),Onne/ Ikpokiri Port complex, Dr. Stanlay  M. Yitnoe for being part of the historic event for the first time. He regretted  that the community had been denied of its fair shares as one of the host communities, and appealed that he should use his good offices to ensure that they also benefit from all rights and privileges as other host communities.

According to the Traditional Ruler of ancient Ele Kingdom, whereas other communities enjoy the royalties due to host communities from the port, they cannot justify the reasons for their unfair treatment. He enjoined the Port Manager to henceforth recognize and treat Ele Community as a stakeholder, including all establishments and companies operating within the sea port and thanked him for the visit.

In his speech, the Local Government Chairman, Bar. Vincent Nemieboka assured the Ports Authorities of maritime security but expressed dismay that since the federal government acquired the old Ele community in 1977 for the port project, no compensation or recognition had been given to the people, stressing that the Ele people had suffered untold hardship as their community was sacked. He however  thanked the Ports Manager for honoring the invitation despite threat by some disgruntled elements.

Bar. Nemieboka noted that as one of the ancient nine clans of Wakrike ethnic nationalities, Ele community deserved Federal, State and Local Government attention through infrastructure and human capital development, and charged them to protect and use the water-ways judiciously to the glory of God and mankind.

In his remarks, the NPA Onne/Ikpokiri Port Manager, Dr. Yitnoe thanked the Local Government Chairman for the provision of the portable drinking water for the people of Ele community and expressed delight with the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.

He called on them to embrace peace, unity and put their house together to benefit from dividends of the Port Authorities as one of the host communities and thanked the Council Chairman for the vision.

Some of the dignitaries at the occasion include the Vice Chairman of Ogu Divisional Council of Chiefs, Chief Bapakaye Orabere Okwodu who led the Chiefs Council, former Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zone, Onne/lkpokiri, Sir. Victor Alabo, former Special Aide to His Excellency, Chief Rufus Ada George, Dr. Kio Tams, House of Assembly member representing Ogu/ Bolo constituency, Hon. Arnold Davids, one time Vice. Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Hon. Daniel Iruene among others with cultural display by groups.
