The member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, and House Committee Chairman on Host Communities, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has described the ruling of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal as a revalidation of the people’s mandate to Gov. Siminalayi Fubara on March 18, 2023.
Rt. Hon. Dekor stated this while reacting to the news of the victory of Gov Fubara at the tribunal on Monday, October 3.
The lawmaker, and chieftain of the PDP in Rivers State said he never had any doubts that the PDP would come out of the unnecessary conspiracy by the petitioners unscathed because there was nothing to fear about, having given the Rivers people quality leadership and excellent governance the eight years preceding the election of Gov Fubara through the exemplary leadership of Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, now Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The massive votes for the PDP in all the elections, the Ogoni-born politician argued, were a pay back to the party and His Excellency, our leader.
He congratulated Gov Fubara on the overwhelming court victory and pledged his unwavering support and prayers of his constituents for more breakthrough in the years ahead.
The former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, and one time Commissioner of Works enjoined the opposition parties in the state to rather join hands with Gov. Fubara to move the state to the deserved height and discontinue discounting the blessings of the State.
Rt. Hon. Dekor also commended the insight of the tribunal judges and the dispassionate manner they handled the cases.
