The Corporate Institute of Strategic Research, CISR Commonwealth of Dominica, has bestowed an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Strategic Leadership and Mentorship Development on HRM King (Dr. Suanu T. Y. Baridam) and named him Patron of the illustrious institution.
The awards were presented on October 27th, 2023 at the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research Centre in Abuja, Nigeria.
Prof. Princewill Inyang, President Corporate Institute of Strategic Research (CISR), presented the awards to the revered Rivers State first-class king on behalf of the Senate and Academic Board of the Institution, saying it is in recognition of his unwavering support, commitment, and dedication to the advancement of knowledge, innovation, and strategic leadership in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
According to the citation read during the ceremony, the first-class monarch, acting chairman of the Ogoni Supreme Traditional Rulers Council, and member of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council was recognized by the institution for his selfless service and uncommon love of his subjects and humanity in general.
Part of the citation reads, it is pertinent to state that His Majesty King (Dr) Suanu T.Y. Baridam, JP is a Forex Trader and leader who has achieved great strides in the infrastructural development of his domain during the relatively short period of his reign.
“Many roads and electricity projects, in addition to the new Model Primary Schools built by the Rivers State Government, have become commonplace throughout the Ancient Bangha Kingdom.
“This was made possible by his efforts. It is clear that the Revered King has achieved so much within so short a time. We are convinced that a lot more will be coming his way and we are already seeing them through his numerous philanthropic activities,” the citation reads.
Responding, His Majesty King (Dr. Suanu T.Y. Baridam) commended the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research (CISR) for the recognition. He pledged his support to the Centre and promised to continue to build on the legacies of his forebears.
The King also dedicated awards to God almighty, his family, the loving people of Bagha Kingdom, and the good people of Rivers State.
HRM King (Dr) Suanu T. Y. Baridum was born on October 3, 1970, into the royal family of HRH King Timothy Yormaadam Baridum, JP of blessed memory of the late Gbenemene Bangha in Luumene Bangha, Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State.
He is happily married to Her Majesty Queen Lesly Suanu Baridam, and the marriage is blessed with 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl).
Recall that HRM King (Dr) Suanu T. Y. Baridum has received numerous awards like Merit Award for Peace in Khana LGA by the Khana Youth Democratic Movement; Award for Contributing to Leadership by the African International; Award for Excellence by the Junior Chambers International; Youth Leadership Award for Excellence by the Organization of Core Oil Producing Communities; Conflict Resolution Award; Justice of Peace (JP) by the Rivers State Government; Ambassador of Peace Award; Golden Service Award by NURSS-Abia State Polytechnic, Rivers State Chapter; Award of Excellence as Mene Efeelo I of NUOS by the National Union of Ogoni Students (NUOS); and Award of Legacy Prize for Excellent Service by Niger Delta Youths Parliament (NDYP).
