The management of the Archdeacon Brown Education centre has felicitated with the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo on his election victory.
The Archdeacon Brown Education centre is also expressing it’s readiness to work with the Obio/Akpor local government area in education advancement.
Their message was conveyed during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo in his office.
Delivering her speech, the leader of the delegation, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari said one of the core mandates of the school is to raise the next generation, explaining that the decision by the management of the school to visit him was to use his rise to stardom as a reference point.
Speaking on the political crisis in Rivers State, the former commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari said the Archdeacon Brown Education Centre owes no one an apology for standing on the side of truth.
“It is important for us to know that businesses can only thrive when Rivers State is calm and peaceful and any attempt to derail it will be catastrophic and that is why we are standing on the side of justice and equity in the political imbroglio.
Mr Chairman, as a leader coming from the National Youth Council of Nigeria, you have shown that it is possible for young people to lead and to stand on the side of truth and justice no matter the cost, as a school we are indeed proud of you.”
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo expressed delight that the Archdeacon Brown Education centre is domicile in his LGA.
Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo said he has slashed taxes for all businesses operating in the LGA by fifty percent.
He said the reason for cutting down taxes is to ease the pains Nigerians are currently going through with the inflation rate and to lure more investors to Obio/Akpor.
“Be rest assured that we will give you the needed support in your bid to raise new leaders, we had earlier cut down taxes on all businesses by fifty percent taking into account the current hardship in the county because we do not want to further impoverish our people through the imposition of taxes.” Like Oliver Twist, the Archdeacon Brown Education Centre made a request to the Executive chairman in the areas of scholarship for brilliant indigent students, scholarship for children with special needs and resource centre equipment.
