IAUE Pro-Chancellor, Chinyere Igwe Harps On Partnership,  Collaborate As  Pathway To Development

Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni Port Harcourt Chief Rt. Hon. Dr. Chinyere Igwe Esq said that partnership and collaboration are the pathway to sustainable development in every sector of human endeavor, hence, organizations must be strategic to engage and reap the benefits of stakeholders engagement.

Rt. Hon. Igwe, who recently secured a prestigious Global Research Chair for his work on comparative public policy, affirmed that the university policy thrust is hinged on partnership between academia and industry to ensure trainings that will produce graduates from the university to satisfy human resource needs in the state, national and international, praised Professor Nduka’s lifelong contributions to education, nation-building, and dedication to scholarship which aligns perfectly with IAUE’s mission.

He made the assertions on Friday, 5 December 2025, while receiving Distinguished Professor EmeritusOtonti Nduka, FNAE, DSSRS and his team, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Rivers State ahead of the centenary birthday celebration and the upcoming national conference of the Otontii Nduka Foundation.

Professor Otonti Nduka, a revered Nigerian educationalist, Fellow of Nigerian Academy of Education and Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State born in 1926 , is the founder of the Otonti Nduka Foundation, which works to revitalise moral values across Nigerian society informed the Pro-Chancellor that the Foundation’s national conference is slated for 8th May 2026, and the birthday gala marking his 100th birthday will follow on 9th.

Professor Nduka reaffirmed his unwavering commitment for the revamping of the moral fibres of the society via values education, and stressed the importance of collaboration between scholars and public-service leaders. H

e highlighted the Foundation’s plans for a national conference aimed at nurturing the next generation of African leaders.

The visit underscores a growing momentum behind joint efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and foster intellectual leadership across Nigeria and the broader African diaspora.

As the centenary festivities draw near, stakeholders anticipate that the partnership between the Otonti Nduka Foundation and IAUE will yield lasting benefits for the academic community and the nation at large. Present at the visit were executive members of ASUU IAUE chapter, principal staff of the Council unit, Eze, Professor Chris Akani, Prof. Sir M. Onyeozu, Prof. Priye Iyalla-Amadi, Grand Dame Prof. Joyce Akaninwor, Rev.Dr. W.S. Azubike JP, Dr Ovuchi Justice Agwnu and Dr Innocent Mmejim.
