Chukwudi Dimkpa Emerges Rivers ADC Chairman

Amid uncertainty surrounding the national leadership of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Dr. Chukwudi Dimpka has emerged a the Chairman of the party in Rivers State.

Chukwudi Dimkpa, a strong ally of former Minister of Transportation and Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, emerged new state chairman of ADC from the party’s state congress held over the weekend.

The Rivers ADC aligned with the former Governor, Amaechi and went ahead with the congress, even as some state chapters postponed or cancelled their own exercises following a recent court judgment that voided the Senator David Mark-led National Executive of the party.

Delegates at the congress elected Dimkpa to lead the state executive committee, signaling the continued influence of the Amaechi political camp within the Rivers ADC structure.

Reacting to the development, the immediate-past chairman of the party in the state, Chief Leader Sampson, congratulated the new executive in a message posted on his verified social media handle.

Sampson also called for unity and support to reposition the party ahead of forthcoming elections.

“As immediate past ADC State Chairman in Rivers State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected executives. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to our cause are truly inspiring. Together, we will forge a path towards progress and unity in our party.

“Let’s work hand in hand to achieve our goals and make a positive impact,” he said. The election of Dimkpa, a former Rivers State representative at the NDDC, signals continued consolidation of the Amaechi bloc within the Rivers ADC structure, as they prepare to face the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) both under the influence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in the 2027 elections.
