Eminent Rivers Ministers Network Backs Elder Hart’s Political Aspiration

…As It Advises Against Bloodshed In 2023 Election

The men of God under the aegis of Eminent Rivers Ministers Network (ERMN) have promised to not only support the political ambition of Elder Alex Abie Hart of the Mass Movement For Good Governance for the Rivers West Senatorial district since according to them, it is the turn of the Bonny Local Government Area to represent the area at that level but would mobilize support for his electoral victory.

In a communiqué prepared in course of their monthly meeting and signed by their leaders including Bishop Godwill E.D Jumbo, Bishop (Dr) Frank I. Benson and Rev. (Dr) Gabriel Azuogu, the Ministers of God said Elder Hart has the capacity to guarantee a good representation going by his antecedents.

The body however called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the political leaders to guarantee a peaceful electoral process for equity, fairness and justice sake. The one that is devoid of bloodshed.

They also prayed and advised all the aspirants from across the political parties to eschew violence in the 2023 general election or hate speeches in their electioneering campaigns.

The body equally advised that political power should rotate to the riverine izon.area to produce the next governor of Rivers State in 2023 for equity, fairness and justice and as well advised against bloodshed in the next year’s election.

On the insecurity ravaging the country, the Christian leaders urged the president, rtd Gen. Mohammadu Buhari as a matter of urgency to wake up from his slumber and halt the killings going on all over the country as the Commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

“He should remember the oath he took seven years ago to majorly protect lives and property as his primary responsibility” they pointed out.

On the aspiration of governor Nyesom Wike for the position of the president of the county, the Christian body said it is a welcome development since he has demonstrated capacity and political will as a governor but that he should as a matter of urgency consider the welfare of Rivers workers and pay them their entitlements, pensions and gratuity inclusive, as the development is one of the dark spots of his administration.

On the reaction of the Rivers NLC to mobilize against governor Wike’s ambition, the Christian leaders said the workers reaction is in order as according to them “a hungry man is an angry man”.

The body of Christ also used the opportunity to call on Christians to get actively involved in politics to change the situation, saying Nigeria has not had it so bad in history. They equally hailed the presidential declaration of interest by pastor Tunde Bakere.

Quoting from the bible (Proverbs 6:1), it said when the righteous is in authority, the people rejoice.

On the participation of the youths in politics, the body said while it supports the youths getting involved in politics and eventually take over, they should still under study the elders enough, “Besides their inexperience and restiveness, the youths are unable to pay for the exorbitant Nomination Forms except the said aspirant is loyal and has sufficiently gain the confidence and trust of an older politician who would sponsor and mentor him”.

They said that though many are clamouring for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership but they believe that the youths should submit themselves for the learning process and mature.

“Most of them are insultive, impatient and restive but if they humble themselves and submit to learning, they will make it as it is not possible for them to grow without the directive and mentorship of the elderly politicians.
