80 Ogoni Students Relieved Of Burden Of Tuition Fees Courtesy Lesi Maol
Luck has smiled on 80 students from Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State as their school fees have been fully paid by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Giolee Global Resources, Hon. Lesi Maol.
The renowned philanthropist was moved to come to the rescue of the students of Rivers State University, Port Harcourt following appeals for help posted on a WhatsApp platform of Ogoni Peoples Assembly (OPA) which incidentally has the Ogoni-born philanthropist as a member of same platform. It had appealed to anyone who is moved to assist the stranded students to do so.
Hon. Maol, in his usual benevolent disposition, could not stand the sight of students being driven home on account of not having money to pay their school fees.
Our source said Maol’s immediate reaction was to respond to the honest appeal with the following words which were posted on the same WhatsApp platform.
“My attention was drawn to the list of about 80 Gokana students that have not paid their school fees. Based on the list I saw posted on this platform, I am led to pay for all these 80 students today, October 24, 2022.
“Therefore, representatives of the students which should not be more than four persons should come and meet me in my office at 18 Uyo Street with the password of all the students by 3pm today Oct. 24, for the fees payment. Thanks. Lesi Maol”.
Recall that Hon. Lesi Maol, is an Award Nominee for Most Outstanding Company & Outstanding Hospitality Organization in commemoration of National Network newspaper 18th Anniversary celebration billed for November 11, 2022 in Port Harcourt.
