A well respected elder statesman in the state and Nyerisi Mbam Oro Esara Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, HRH King Sir Hon. S. O. Worlu JP has prayed God to touch the hearts of Nigerians to see the need to embrace and serve the living God for happy, prosperous and victorious year 2023.
The soft-spoken preacher of the Word and government recognized monarch and a member of Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers said that everybody should strive to serve the living God because there is no alternative. The likeable and amiable paramount ruler added that one can be what God wants him to be only by obeying God’s words.
The unassuming and easy-going royal father who is a knight of St. Christopher, Anglican Communion and the vision bearer of Esara Royal Fellowship went further to disclose that him, his family and Esara Royal Fellowship had seriously prayed for God’s intervention in the affairs of Nigeria so that Nigerians would live the way God created us to live, know God and serve God’s purposes in our generation.
The Nyerisi Mbam further said that 2023 is very remarkable because it is an election year. Again, he disclosed that they had prayed hard for Divine Intervention and for God to choose righteous leaders for the various positions in line of what the scripture says that when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice – Proverbs 29 v 2.
The ever-smiling king further said with sadness that Nigeria had wobbled enough and mourned enough.
Now Nigeria is at the cross-road, we are not relenting in praying God for His supernatural intervention and to give us righteous leaders that would experience the dunamis of heaven, the power of God and honour God.
According to the traditional ruler, although, it is undeniable that we are facing a most trying period as a nation, it does not however mean that we should give up. He however, cautioned the leaders who are oppressing the people they are supposed to be ruling to beware of what the scripture says in Isaiah 49:26 that those who oppressed those they rule will be drunken with their own blood as sweet wine.
The Royal Father assured that with prayers we shall overcome because God is a prayer answering God. He will restore integrity, sanity and respect in the land so far we accept Him as ultimate leader and redeemer.
King Worlu also used the opportunity to commend the Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike for his remarkable achievements especially in the area of infrastructural development and for including Rumuokwrusi in his urban renewal programme with the construction of the fly-over bridge. To him, Wike has raised the bar.
However, he used this medium to advice his successor to work other areas of development, especially human capital development. The government should as a matter of urgency revive and re-activate the moribund companies that are now shadow of themselves so that the teeming employable unemployed youths would have something doing instead of roaming the streets aimlessly in search of works that are not in existence.
In conclusion, Nyerisi Mbam Oro Esara said while he wishes all prosperous new year, it is incumbent that are all appreciate God for seeing us through 2022 as well as guiding our paths in the years before.
