CSO Commends Ndigbara’s Peace Initiative On Niger Delta
The Civil Society Organization (CSO) has commended the lofty peace efforts of Chief Solomon Ndigbara’s in parts of Niger Delta.
The president of the CSO, Solo Peace Movement, Comrade Neebee Steve made the commendation when the group visited Chief Ndigbara’s palace in Yeghe, Gokana Local Government Area recently.
The non- governmental organization which also focuses on the promotion of unity and development of Ogoni as well as improved well-being of people of the area also acknowledged Ndigbara’s peaceful disposition and succeses in bringing peace to the area as “Menesere-efeelo1 of Niger Delta”.
Calling on youths and students to imbibe the spirit of peace while shunning all acts of violence, the group used the opportunity to distribute free copies of eighty leaves exercise books with the inscription, “Chief Ndigbara Menesirabarabatera 1of Ogoni”.
Responding, Chief Solomon Ndigbara expressed joy over the group’s commendation and promised to increase his efforts in ensuring that criminality and communal clashes no longer rear their ugly heads in Ogoni and other Niger Delta communities.
He reiterated his zero tolerance for acts of violence,cultism and criminality adding that he is open for collaboration with security agencies, legitimate organizations,as well as well-meaning individuals in ensuring a safe society for development to thrive.
Meanwhile, the students’ Union Government of the Rivers State University,Nkpolu- Oruworukwo,Port Harcourt,has concluded plan to embark on solidarity visit to Chief Solomon Ndigbara in order to seek partnership on their planned programme tagged”Stand Against Rape And Domestic Violence”.
The Union’s president, Comrade Clement Chu- Nwafor who lauded Chief Ndigbara’s successful efforts in restoring security to various communities further pleaded for his support in creating positive consciousness in the minds of students for them to abhor all sorts of Sexual and Domestic Violence,but develop entrepreneurship spirit in them.
It would be recalled that Chief Solomon Ndigbara facilitated the return of peace to some Ogoni Communities like Lewe,Bomu,Sogho,Kaani,Kpong,Deeyor ,Deken,Wiiyaalcara, Kor etc.
