Late Dandison Jaja Was A Custodian Of Culture And Tradition – Prof Odu

The Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, on 21 January 2026 paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late monarch of the Opobo Kingdom, expressing the heartfelt sympathies of the state government and people over the loss of the revered traditional ruler.

Professor Odu described the late monarch as a distinguished custodian of culture and tradition whose reign contributed significantly to peace, unity, and development in the Opobo Kingdom and Rivers State at large.

She noted that his leadership legacy would continue to inspire present and future generations.

While consoling the widow and members of the royal family, the Deputy Governor prayed for God’s comfort and strength for them in this difficult time, urging them to take solace in the impactful life and service rendered by the late monarch. She reaffirmed the commitment of the Rivers State Government to stand in solidarity with the Opobo Kingdom and the bereaved family, assuring them of continued support as they mourn the transition of the respected traditional ruler.
