Jerry Needam Leads CACN Members In Thanksgiving To God For Bro. Obuah, Others
…Announces Scholarship From Primary To University Level For Children of Less Privileged Church Members
As part of activities marking the week-long Pentecost prayer and fasting programme which took place at St Luke’s Christ Army Church of Nigeria (CACN), Kono, Khana local government area of Rivers State, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jerry Needam on behalf of his principal, Bro. Felix Obuah, led members of the church to a special thanksgiving to God for steering the party to a successful campaign and victory at the just concluded 2019 general elections in the State.
Jerry Needam also thanked God for the victory of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and all PDP candidates in the election.
According to the Rivers PDP Chairman’s media aide, the week-long Pentecost programme which commenced on Monday, June 3 ended on Sunday, June 9, 2019.
He said the programme featured Fasting, Prayers, Thanksgiving, Holy Communion, Deliverance and Prayers for peace in Khana Local Government Area as well as Ogoni and Rivers State at large.
Speaking on the theme, “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4b), Bishop of Bori Diocese of the Christ Army Church of Nigeria (CACN), Bishop Macjob Mkparo charged Christians to remain faithful and committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, stressing that no meaningful attainment can be achieved by man outside Christ.
Describing the annual Pentecost prayer and fasting programme as a spiritual rebirth where the Christian faithful gather for spiritual revival, the cleric enjoined Christians in the State to always pray and not faint, stressing that a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian.
Bishop Mkparo said the Pentecost is a constant reminder of the gracious gift of the Holy Spirit to all believers and which is our hope and pride.
He further enjoined Christians and other well meaning people in the State to pray for the continuing success of Governor Wike as he pilots the affairs of the State for another four years.
Highpoints of the one week fasting and prayer Pentecost programme were prayers for peace in Kono, Kwawa, Buan, Bane and all Communities in Ogoni, particularly in Khana Local Government Area and Rivers State at large, as well as prayers for the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
There was also the award of scholarship to five children of some less privileged members of the Church.
The scholarship covers their Primary education to any University they are offered admission in Nigeria.

Announcing the scholarship and names of beneficiaries on behalf of the Church, Jerry Needam, a Priest and the Media Communicator of the Christ Army Church of Nigeria charged beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the Church in character and in learning.
The scholarship programme according to Jerry Needam will be a yearly event, targeted at children of less privileged members of the Church.
