The new Rivers State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice , Dr Zacheus Adango has promised to improve and enhance quick dispensation of Justice in the State.
Dr. Adango disclosed that one of the biggest challenges in the Ministry of Justice is delay in submission of legal advice adding that in his previous six months in office he was able to set up a Special Committee on Legal Advice and reorganized the ministry so that cases of criminal matters passed through his department while ensuring that every matter concerning the Government was given priority.
On how to help the populace especially with regards to molestation of Rivers people by security personnel, the justice commission regretted that law enforcement agencies have become number one culprit in flouting the law and promised to interact with them so as to bring to their attention the need to respect the rights of the People.
He however threatened to sue any Law enforcement agent that fails to cooperate with the ministry but continues to inflict violence and oppression on Rivers people and residents.
The immediate past Arttoney General of the state who hails from Andoni also promised to demistify the office of the Attorney General adding that he was prepared to learn new skills to enable him perform creditably well.
