NDDC Directors Risk Jail For Disobeying Court Order
The Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue (RSBIR) has initiated a contempt proceeding before the High Court of Rivers State against top officials of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for opening the commission’s premises without a court order.
Other respondents in the suit marked OHC23//2019 are NDDC, Acting Managing Director, Professor Nelson Brambaifa, Acting Executive Director Finance and Administration, Chris Amadi, Acting Executive Director, Projects, Adjogbe Samuel and Director of Legal Services, Kaltungo Moljengo.
Following an application by RSBIR, the court granted the service of Form 49, which is an order of committal on the alleged contemnors by substituted service over alleged disobedience of court order.An affidavit filed by RSBIR indicate that Form 48, which is a notice of consequence of disobedience of court order, was earlier served on the alleged contemnors.
