Although primary and secondary health care services are perceived to be expensive in Nigeria for everybody to afford, stakeholders have advised First Care medicals to promote and provide quality and affordable healthcare service delivery to Nigerians resident in Rivers State.
Former Commissioner for Finance, Rivers State, Chamberlain Peterside and former Council Chairman of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area, Hon. Warisenibo Macclean Uranta disclosed this during the official opening and offer of free medical services to the public by the First Care Medical Hospitals in Port Harcourt recently.
Chamberlain Peterside lauded the idea and vision of the First Care Medicals, describing it as very remarkable to serve the people’s healthcare needs especially nursing mothers.
According Peterside, “Everybody knows that healthcare is very expensive to bear at this time of our economy, but, the First Care Medical Hospitals should make adequate provision for indigent citizens, infants and nursing mothers, who need care at all times”.Chamberlain also advised the First Care Medical Hospital to maintain standards and good ethical practice that will promote decorum and professionalism and quality service delivery.
According to him, “money should not be a determining factor, although, every business enterprise was created to make profit, good ethical practices should be sustained to enable people who are sick to patronize the hospital and participate in medical check-ups and emergency care”.Also speaking, Hon. Warisenibo Macclean Uranta, commended the visioner and director of the First Care Medicals, Dr. Kingsley Sofiri-Peterside for the initiative and the passion to render quality health care sevices to Nigerians in Rivers State.
According to him, “The visioner is up to his heights, and I believe that he has the passion to provide patients with world class medical services by promising to respond to the health needs of patients with effective and efficient approach.
On her part, the operations manager of First Care Medical Hospitals, Mrs. Doreen Ferdinand Ifeanyi said, the health care facility rendered integrated services, including emergency Health Care services at affordable rates to organizations and multi-nationals, including Shell and PPMC, consultancy services, antenatal services, informing that, First Care Medical Hospitals is an annex to First Chaplains Hospitals in Port Harcourt.
Ifeanyi also explained that the hospital run long and short term services, depending on the need of clients services and urged the public to take advantage of the hospital medical services and receive professional health care services, while urging government to provide conducive working environment to enable the business achieve its goals and objectives.
The operations manager of First Care Medical, further assured Nigerians that the hospital has a mandate to ensure responsibilities are discharged at all professionally accepted cost to assist patients with honesty, accuracy and integrity.
