Three Bank armed robbery suspects were killed on Thursday by Police officers of SOS, Two Ak47 with 8 magazines and 186 rounds of Ammunition, metallic colour Toyota Corolla and ox- blood Toyota camry was recovered.
Officers of the Rivers State Police Command killed three armed robbers during a gun battle on Thursday in Port Harcourt at around 9.30am on Birabi Street, GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to an eye witness, he was not aware if the armed robbers were returning from an operation, the hoodlums were oblivious of the fact that they were being trailed by the police.
The source stated, “It happened in the morning around 9.30am on Birabi Street inside the GRA in Port Harcourt. The armed robbers did not know that the police were following them.
“We heard gunshots and the residents were afraid; we later heard that three armed robbers were killed.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident, adding that three armed robbers were killed by the Swift Operation Squad.
Omoni stated, “Yes, three armed robbers were killed on Birabi Street in the GRA, Port Harcourt this morning (Thursday). They were killed by personnel of the Swift Operation Squad.
“The three hoodlums were intercepted in the morning. Two AK-47 rifles, eight magazines and 186 pieces of live ammunition were recovered from them. Investigation is still ongoing.”
