As the National Network group of newspapers ended activities marking it’s15 years of publication with awards given to individuals covering different categories, the chairman of the Editorial Board of the newspaper, Dr, Barigbon Nsereka has stated reasons behind honouring individuals with awards.
He stated this during the anniversary before the handover of award plaques to recipients at Hotel Presidential, venue of the event. According to him, those who made impacts serving God, humanity and the society should be recognized for their efforts. He noted that these group of persons had displayed high level of character in their managerial sagacity, environmental advocacy, peace and unity promotion, educational promotion, enterprise, hardwork, productivity, business acumen, givers of spiritual succour-among others.
Particularly, he noted that “persons who raised the altitude of human accomplishments should be lavished with honour. He stated that by their individual contributions, the recipients had exhibited victory over self.
On the part of the tabloid which has continued to serve humanity, the chairman of the editorial board, Dr. Nsereka opined that the publication enjoys making impacts in the lives of the reading public through its objective, incisive and thought provoking contents. He said this is apart from its traditional role as a purveyor of information, entertainment and education in the society..
He expressed the confidence that the award will spur individuals so honoured to do more by adding values to humanity in their different capacities.
