Obuah Congratulates Rivers Angels Over 6th Consecutive NWPL Victory

The Sole Sponsor of Go-Round Football Club of Omoku, Bro. Felix Obuah has commended the Rivers Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt for winning the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Professional Football League for a record six times.

Bro. Obuah in a statement in Port Harcourt said the victory of Rivers Angels is a testimony that the Rivers lads are truly the undisputable queens of soccer in the country, having also lifted the women edition of the 2019 AITEO Cup.

He applauded the Angels for their hard work and determination which he said, crowned their effort with a sixth consecutive league victory, adding that the proud Rivers ambassadors  have also set a record as the only female team to win the NWFL six times.

Bro. Obuah, who is also the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, added that the victory of Rivers Angels represents another milestone by Governor Nyesom Wike whose passion for sports development is unrivaled.

He described Governor Wike administration as a story of sporting glories, recalling the impressive runs of Rivers United FC, Go-Round FC as well as the exploit of Rivers Hoopers in the National Basketball League.

Bro. Obuah also commended the coaching crew of the Rivers Angels FC for a job well done, adding that their technical and tactical inputs provided the tonic for the impressive performance.

He however, charged the girls not to see their victory as the end of the contest but rather a wake-up call for tougher challenges in the new football season, even as he called on the Angels to see themselves as role models for upcoming players in the State and country at large.

“By the feat you just recorded, you have established yourselves as the all conquering team in the country.  You still remain the team to beat and this singular achievement has imposed a duty on you to work harder to enable you defend both the AITEO Cup and the NWFL trophies”, Bro. Obuah said, affirming that the successful defense of these laurels would instill confidence in Governor Nyesom Wike to do more and take the club to greater heights.
