Oba Of Ogbaland Back Home After Medical Treatment Abroad
The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland and former Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Sir (Dr.) Chukumela Nnam Obi is back home after some weeks medical treatment abroad.
According to a statement by the Palace Media Officer, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, the Eze Ogba was received at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa by a mammoth crowd made up of family members, Traditional Rulers, Chiefs, various cultural and social organizations.
After a brief colourful traditional displays at the airport to welcome him, the Ogba Monarch proceeded to his Palace at Omoku accompanied by a long convoy. On reaching Omoku, he was received by thousands of people awaiting his arrival and followed by 21 cannon shots salute.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, the Eze Ogba thanked all Nigerians for their prayers and goodwill messages since he left Nigeria for the Medical treatment and prayed for peace, unity and rapid development of Nigeria.
He disclosed that if not for his doctor’s advice he has been eager to come back home as it has not been his practice to stay outside his domain (Ogba Kingdom) longer than necessary as according to him, “home is home” but gave glory and adoration to Almighty God for a successful journey.
All those who spoke among whom, the Eze Iyasara and Traditional Minister of Ogbaland, HRH, Eze Louis Chukwudi Ajie, JP, on behalf of the people of Ogba Ethnic Nationality, their in-laws, friends and all Nigerians both at home and in-diaspora welcomed the Ogba King back home and thanked God for his journey mercies.
We gathered that there were special thanksgiving services in some churches in Orashi Region of Rivers State to thank God for a successful and safe arrival of the Ogba Monarch from his medical trip abroad.
