Following a mid-term cabinet reshuffle in Gokana Local Government Area, Executive Chairman, High-Chief Hon. Paul Vidag Kobani, has  appointed Comrade Monday Paul Deede as Secretary to the Council.

Swearing in the young and dynamic Council Secretary at the Council headquarters, Kpor at the weekend, Hon. Paul Vidag Kobani charged the new appointee to see his appointment as a call to serve Gokana with uncompromised vigour. The Chairman however, explained that he has enough trust in the ability of the former students leader to justify the confidence reposed in him by exploiting his wealth of experience and hit the ground running through service delivery.

The youth friendly Chairman used the occasion to advice youths to be strategically positioned for more appointments in his administration which, he said, was open to public participation to achieve the desired democratic dividend.  He further charged youths to take advantage of the noble objectives of his government geared towards job creation in the Local Government Area and make life worthwhile.

The Chairman who is currently receiving encomiums from the retinue of Gokana people assured the youths that the ongoing signature project of an ultra-modern administrative complex in the council would not just change the architectural landscape of the Council, as an edifice but,  will also provide job opportunities for the teeming construction workers in the area.

Responding, the newly appointed Secretary of Council, Comrade Monday Paul Deede thanked the Chairman for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota to the development of Gokana, describing the Chairman as a man of uncommon ethnocentric patriotism who would give out his best for the development of Gokana.

He maintained that the Chairman remains a rare breed that would raise his head above the parapets of parish-pump politics to appoint credible people as foot soldiers that will drive the lofty plans of his administration. The Secretary dedicated his appointment to God and the good people of Gokana, describing it as a morale booster.

Similarly, the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman of Bomu who is also a stalwart of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Bomu, Hon. Goodluck Gbara-age thanked the Chairman for appointing a worthy son of the land who earned the confidence and support of the entirety of the people. He described the appointment as well deserving following the overwhelming acceptance and jubilation that witnessed the event and underscored the people’s oriented leadership of High-Chief Hon. Paul Vidag Kobani.
