Why Dumo Insists On Another Autopsy On Late Father, O. B. Lulu-Briggs
The crisis in O.B. Lulu-Briggs’ dynasty following the death of their patriarch, High Chief O.B Lulu-Briggs, is far from over as Dr (Mrs) Seinye O.B Lulu-Briggs has alleged that Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is asking for a second autopsy on the remains of his father to further delay his father’s burial and negotiate with her on how to divide up his property.
In a published advertorial signed by her spokesperson, Oraye St Franklin, Dr (Mrs) Lulu-Briggs alleged that the third son of her late husband was delaying his father’s burial so he could gain access to his assets, but said the Last Will and Testament of late High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs clearly stated that his three elder sons had received their inheritance from him during his lifetime.
Dr (Mrs) Lulu-Briggs said through her spokesperson, St Franklin, that: “Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is delaying his father’s burial in order to use his father(‘s) body as a bargaining chip with his stepmother to gain access to his father’s assets”.
She further said Dumo Lulu-Briggs was asking for samples of body parts of his late father from the first autopsy conducted in Accra, Ghana, saying he had refused to accept its outcome.
She said” “Dumo’s personal grouse that he was not given samples of his father’s body parts is a convenient excuse to mask his real motives. If as agreed, especially by his pathologists, that the autopsy was properly done, why did Chief Dumo decline the offer to be given samples of his father’s body tissue? Why is he insisting on a second autopsy?
“The claim by Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs that his stepmother is holding the mortal remains of his father hostage and therefore delaying his funeral is completely false and misleading. On the contrary, the mortal remains of High Chief are ready for interment except that Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is not yet ready to bury his father and is purposely delaying the funeral”.
Seinye Lulu-Briggs alleged that Chief Lulu-Briggs deviously instigated the need for the first autopsy and when he failed to have control of the autopsy process had approached a District Magistrate Court in Ghana to ask for a second autopsy.
She said: “No litigation is subsisting anywhere in the world that inhibits, prohibits or forbids the burial of High Chief O.B Lulu-Briggs. The delay in the burial of High Chief O.B. Lulu-Briggs must be attributed to Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs’ mischievous claim that his 88-year-old-father died unnaturally. This resulted in his call for an autopsy, which has been done and attested to by his very pathologists. Incredulously, he has returned to the same Kaneshie District Magistrate Court, which ordered the first autopsy with a request for another autopsy to further delay his father’s burial”.
She said Dumo’s allegation that she was holding hostage the body of her late husband was an attempt to defame her and promote mischief to achieve his aims.
