KDF Responds To Covid-19 With Equipment, Drugs & Food Donation

Indigenes of Bille Kingdom in Diaspora under the auspices of the Bille Kingdom Development Foundation (BKDF) have donated funds to provide food stuffs and  COVID detection, prevention and primary treatment drugs to the Bille Kingdom in Degema Local Government Aarea of Rivers State. The items worth over N7million include Infred thermometers, hand sanitizers, hand gloves, face masks, plastic buckets for hand wash and basic drugs to address symptoms. The food items are Garri, Rice and beans, salt, oil, etc..

The Health Equipment and drugs were handed over in a brief ceremony by Dr Justinah Jumbo. the Team leader of the Health Development Sub Committee of the Foundation to the Chairman, Bille Kingdom Chiefs Council Chief Bar. Bennett Okpokiye- Dokubo and the Resident Doctor of the Bille Primary Health Care Center, Dr Fubara Felix Gabriel. The Team Leader, Economic Development Sub Committee, Engr. Onengiyeofori H. Fenibo handed over the food items to the Chief  Council for distribution

The Coordinator of the Bille Kingdom Development Initiative, Elder Boma V, Benebo, speaking from Abuja, commended the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike  for his passion in protecting the people of the state. He called on all well-meaning indigenes of Rivers State in diaspora to assist their communities to prevent the spread of the pandemic, as the best efforts of the state cannot fully impact the grassroots. He called on the State Governor to make conscious effort to provide relief items to those in the creeks of Rivers State and provision of water and or air ambulance for emergency response to calls from the Health Centers established in the creeks.

It will be recalled that the Bille Kingdom launched  a Development Agenda 2040 in May 2019 to steer developments in strategic areas with the Governor as Guest of Honour. The Bille Kingdom Development Foundation is set up to drive the Initiative.
