Rumuwoji Community Appoints NUJ Scribe Chairman

The newly appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman of Rumuwoji Community in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Ike Wigodo, has assured to reconcile all aggrieved members of the community and move the community forward.

Wigodo who gave the assurance in his acceptance speech urged members of the community to co-operate with the committee to achieve its set goals.

He noted that the High Court judgement gave the Chairman of Chiefs and Owhor holders led by Elder Omunakwe Paul and his members, the chairmen of Number two and three meetings the powers to appoint caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the community for two months.

He commended the community for finding him and his members worthy to serve the community, assuring that those who are ready for peace would be welcomed.

The chairman urged the youths not to be allowed to be used by selfish individuals who had converted community properties into their personal belongings, and assured that those who had stolen from the community would be brought to book.

Earlier, the Chiefs and Owhor holders Council had formally dissolved the house and appointed a Caretaker Committee Tuesday 28/04/2020 to pilot the affairs of the Community for a period of 2 months and then constitute an Electoral Committee that will conduct an Election.

Those appointed include,

  1. Ike Wigoso: Chairman
  2. Daniel Chinda: Secretary
  3. Sunny Nsiegbe: member
  4. Elliot Wobo: member
  5. Chile Paul: member
  6. Rockson Wobo: member
  7. Elder Uche Dike: member.

The committee commences work immediately.
