N450m Compensation To Victims Of 2019 General Elections In AKULGA: Bro Felix Obuah Lauds Gov. Wike’s Caring Spirit
…Describes Gesture As Mark Of Good Leadership
The immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter, Bro. Felix Obuah, has given kudos to Governor Nyesom Wike for living true to his promise last year during a church programme organized by the Kalabari people in honour of those who lost their lives during the 2019 general elections in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, that the state government would compensate the victims and the families of the deceased.
Bro. Obuah who lauded Governor Wike’s caring spirit to the relatives of those innocent victims of trigger-happy military personnel and their benefactors, noted that by the display of this rare concern, Gov. Wike has again scored another ‘first’ among his contemporaries by proving that indeed, he is a compassionate leader.
Further thanking Gov Wike for the kind gesture and patriotic act, the immediate past State PDP Chairman, Bro. Obuah, said despite the fact that no amount of money can buy human life, the financial provision by the governor is a reassurance to the affected persons and families that their loved ones did not die in vain, and will help to provide for those they left behind.
“This is an act of a visionary and compassionate leader, an ability to speak the language the dumb can speak and the deaf can hear and understand. This is where Gov Wike as a politician differs from the rest of the heap who parade themselves as leaders yet they lack the essential ingredients. I’m happy and feel fulfilled that these victims of circumstance did not die unrecognised,” Bro. Obuah declared.
Bro. Obuah advised beneficiaries of the compensation to judiciously use the financial support to sustain and uplift their families so that the relations of the victims especially the children will freshen into smiles once again.
The immediate past State PDP Chairman further enjoined them to remain steadfast in their prayers and support for the Nyesom Wike-led government, reassuring that no section of the population will be ignored by the governor in line with his convenant with Rivers people, and to discountenance all the antics of those he labelled as unrepentant enemies of the State under the guise of political opposition.
