R/S Judicial Service Commission Members Pledge Discipline, Diligence
The new members of the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission have assured to instil discipline into the commission.
They gave the assurance when they appeared before the State House of Assembly for screening and ratification.
They also promised to ensure that all those who work with the commission carry out their responsibilities as when due while promising to deal with those who fail to do their work.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmakers, the Majority Leader, Martin Chike Amaewhule, had described the nominees as sent by the Executive Governor,Barr Nyesom Wike as sound and committed individuals and enjoined the House to endorse their ratification.
He noted that the Judicial Service Commission is not to be toyed with adding that the efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike in delivering dividends of democracy should be encouraged.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani while confirming them asked them to be committed to their responsibilities and serve Rivers people with diligence.
Those screened and confirmed were Mr Chima Boms, Dr Assa- Moni Nwinia, Mr Ibim Dokubo and Chief Richard Ehie.
It would be recalled that Governor Nyesom Wike sent a letter to the Rivers House of Assembly requesting it to screen and confirm four nominees as member designates into the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission.
Meanwhile, Rivers State Physical and Development Amendment Bill 2020 has passed its first reading on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
