Stop Resorting To Blackmail, Allwell Onyesoh Told
The leadership of Etche Local Government Area in Rivers State has advised Allwell Onyesoh, a former commissioner in the state, to avoid blackmail.
In a paid advertorial, Chief of Staff in the council, Chief Promise Nwankwo, said that the council had observed false publication by a local tabloid allegedly engineered by Onyesoh.
Chief Nwankwo alleged that since Onyesoh moved from All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, he was using the name of the governor and claimed that he was promised appointment by the governor and sees the council chairman, Hon (Dr) Obinna Anyanwu, as his obstacle.
The Chief of Staff said: “Since he jumped ship from the APC to the PDP, he has been dropping the name of Governor Nyesom Wike claiming that he was promised the Chairman of PDP in the state in addition to the Sole Administrator of Sanitation Authority, which were headed by Bro Felix Obuah.
“When that failed, he has continuously influenced those he can deceive that the governor promised him the Chairmanship of Internal Revenue in the state just as he also told them that he was promised Senatorial ticked for Rivers East. So he perceives the Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. (Dr) Obinna Anyanwu, as his obstacle to the promises he claims the governor made to him”.
He said that the people of the local government were uncertain if he has properly become member of the party in spite of the reception given him by governor of the state.
Chief Nwankwo accused Onyesoh of misinformation saying that the council boss was “a silent proactive manager of resources” who does not believe in “rendering stewardship on the pages of newspapers” as he “executes projects with prudent management of resources available to him”.
Chief Nwankwo said: “He thinks by resorting to blackmail, it will place him at an advantage. However when people start dealing with lies, it requires many more to keep them afloat and standing.
“Rather than standing with the two legs in the PDP that he recently joined, he is threading on falsehood, blackmail and name-dropping, the character Etche people thought he would have outlived by now”.
He alleged that Onyesoh promised chairmanship of the council to three people, saying: “We are sure that Allwell Onyesoh was angry when the name of the council was not among the local governments that borrowed money from banks as he was hoping that it would have given him an opportunity”.
The Chief of Staff advised him to be honest and sincere to himself and those around him on how he allegedly peddles falsehood and name-dropping, saying the earlier he does this the better for him and his political future.
